That’s why Jerusalem Open House steps in before every yom tov, assembling thousands of boxes laden with yom tov provisions and distributing them among poor and needy families throughout the city. On erev Succos and Pesach, we also send them 1,000 shekels with the hope that it helps families still their hunger pangs and forget about life´s hardships – If only for the duration of the chag.
