Imagine it is Sukkos. All of Israel celebrates Sukkos, the holiday where we all visit the Kotel.
People stream from all over. They come to pray, they come to cry, they come to be joyous. The rides are long and tiring and the summer weather is here.
Hot, tired and hungry, they need refreshments so that they may pursue their spiritual needs and celebrate the Yom Tov in a manner thta is most meaningful to them.
Once again Linas Hachesed is there. Drinks and special cakes are made available to the thousands that stream through its sukkah doors at no charge.
Be part of this supreme charitable act. Be part of this noble tradition of caring for those who need. Support this very special cause and be part of their experience.
The Jerusalem Open House believes the no Jew should ever experience the pain of hunger and neglect; surely not in the Kings own palace Jerusalem. This past Pesach the organization sponsored a snack and refreshment area at the Kosel the Western Wall Plaza - for the thousands of visitors coming to pay homage throughout Yom Tov. Plans are now underway for an expanded program for the upcoming Pesach. Families walk for hours to visit The Kotel, many with small children. Jerusalem Open House will be there to insure that this joyful occasion is not mired by the pain of heat, hunger and exhaustion. |
